Bunk beds with drawer (27)

Practical Storage Hidden Beneath the Sleeping Area

Bunk beds with drawers provide generous enclosed storage exactly where it is often needed most — in a children's bedroom. The spacious drawer slides beneath the lower bunk and offers room for bedding, blankets, toys, or clothing, helping to keep everyday items neatly out of sight without the need for an additional dresser.

The drawer dimensions are determined by the bed size. Its width matches the main mattress width, its length is 8 cm shorter than the mattress, and its height is 18 cm. For a bunk bed designed for a 90×200 cm mattress, this creates a storage compartment measuring 90×192 cm. In the configurator, you can choose between one or two drawers. Each drawer runs on rubber-coated wheels that protect laminate flooring, hardwood floors, and tiles while ensuring smooth and quiet operation.

The drawer option is available for all three bunk bed models and every finish, including custom RAL and NCS colours. N01 and N02 models can still be separated into two independent beds in the future. This version is designed for storage rather than sleeping. If you need an additional sleeping space for a third person, consider our bunk beds with a pull-out mattress drawer instead. If you are unsure which option is best for your room, contact us and we will be happy to help.

Questions and answers

Bunk beds with drawer

What is the drawer in a bunk bed used for, and what can be stored in it?
In this version, the drawer is an open, spacious storage unit on wheels installed beneath the lower bunk. It is designed for storing bedding, blankets, toys, or clothing. It is not intended for sleeping – that purpose is served by the separate mattress drawer version. The internal dimensions depend on the bed size: the width matches the main mattress width, the length is 8 cm shorter, and the height is 18 cm. For example, with a 90×200 cm bed, the drawer interior accommodates up to 90×192 cm.
Can I order one drawer or two drawers?
The configurator offers two options: a single drawer or two drawers beneath the lower bunk. Both operate in the same way and run on the same wheels; they differ only in capacity and price. Two drawers allow you to separate stored items, such as keeping bedding in one and toys in the other. The choice is made when placing your order.
Does the drawer scratch the floor when pulled out?
No. The drawer is equipped with rubber-coated wheels that protect flooring from scratches and ensure smooth, quiet operation. This solution works equally well on laminate flooring, parquet, and tiles. There is no need to lift the drawer or use protective pads – it slides in and out effortlessly.
Does the drawer change the bed height or prevent it from being separated?
The height does not change — the drawer fits into the space under the lower level, and the bed dimensions remain the same as in the version without a drawer. The possibility of separating the bed into two single beds depends on the model: it applies to N01 and N02, also with a drawer, while N03 cannot be separated. The drawer is part of the lower frame and is lacquered in the same color as the entire bed.
Is the drawer included in the price, or is it an extra-cost option?
The price shown on the product page already includes the drawer — there is no separate hidden surcharge for this element. The version with two drawers has its own price, also shown on the product page. The drawer is available for all three models (N01, N02, N03) and in every offered color, including custom RAL and NCS shades.
Who are bunk beds designed for, and what rooms are they suitable for?
Nizio bunk beds are designed for siblings sharing one room and for any space where saving floor area matters — children’s rooms, teenagers’ rooms, and studio apartments. We recommend the upper level for children aged 6 and older, while the lower level is suitable for all ages. Thanks to a 200 kg weight capacity per level and solid wood construction, the bed can also be used by teenagers and adults. It is a long-term piece of furniture, not just a bed for childhood.
What are the differences between models N01, N02, and N03?
The models differ in side design and ladder placement. N01 has sides with open crossbars, while N02 has solid sides; in both models, the ladder is positioned on the long side of the bed. N03 has a ladder on the short side, integrated into the structure, giving the bed a more compact shape. All models have the same 200 kg weight capacity per level and the same finishes and sizes. The choice mainly depends on the room layout and aesthetic preference.
What mattress sizes fit a bunk bed?
Bunk beds are available in 12 mattress sizes: widths of 80, 90, 100, or 120 cm and lengths of 180, 190, or 200 cm. The most commonly chosen sizes are 90×200 cm for children and teenagers and 120×200 cm for adults. A wooden slatted base is included in the bed price on each level. The mattress is not included and should be selected and ordered separately according to the user’s age.
What is the height of the bunk bed, and what room height is required?
The total height depends on the model: N01 and N02 are 176 cm high, while N03 is 195 cm high. The clearance between levels, measured without a mattress, is 96 cm in N01 and N02 and 115 cm in N03. Mattress thickness reduces the actual headroom on the lower level. We recommend a room height of at least 230 cm so that the person on the upper level can sit comfortably. If you have sloped ceilings or a lower ceiling, please contact us before purchasing.
Can a bunk bed be separated into two individual beds?
Models N01 and N02 have a modular construction and can be separated into two independent single beds — useful when children grow up or move into separate rooms. Model N03 cannot be separated due to its ladder integrated into the side. In all models, the side panels are delivered factory-assembled, making the first assembly, and in N01 and N02 also later reconfiguration, possible without specialist tools.
What types of wood and finishes are available for bunk beds?
We make our beds exclusively from solid pine wood, oak wood, or a combination of both — without MDF or particleboard. Standard finishes include: white, grey, white/oak, black/oak, clear pine, natural pine, natural oak, and bleached oak. Upon request, we can paint the bed in any color from the RAL or NCS palette. The finishes are made using certified water-based paints compliant with EN 71-3 and safe for contact with a child’s skin.
Which safety standards does the bunk bed comply with?
Nizio bunk beds comply with European standards EN 747 (bunk beds — safety and strength requirements) and EN 1725 (beds and mattress supports). The upper level is surrounded by a safety rail, all edges are rounded, and the connections are free from protruding screws. Use of the upper level is recommended from the age of 6. Wall mounting is not required, but we recommend it — the appropriate mounting kit is included with every order.
Is bunk bed assembly difficult, and how long does it take?
Assembly takes an average of 60–90 minutes. The sides of each level are delivered factory-assembled, so most of the work is already done — the remaining elements are connected using premium fittings and clear instructions. You will need the Allen key included in the set and a Phillips screwdriver. Due to the size of the side panels and upper safety rail, assembly is easier with two people — one person holds the parts while the other tightens them.
Can an additional safety rail be purchased for the bunk bed?
Yes. The upper level has a standard safety rail and does not require additional protection. However, if a small child sleeps on the lower level, an additional wooden fall-out guard can be purchased for that level. It is made from the same wood as the bed, matches the selected finish, and is ordered separately.
How much does a bunk bed cost, and what affects the price?
The price of each variant is shown on the product page in your local market currency. It depends on the model (N01–N03), finish, and version: without a drawer, with a storage drawer, or with a mattress drawer. Lacquered versions are the most affordable, while oak versions are the most expensive. Each version has its price clearly shown on the product page, with no hidden surcharges. Production takes 2–3 weeks, delivery cost depends on the country, and you have 100 days to return the product.
What payment methods are available, and can I buy on installments?
Available payment methods and installment options are shown in the cart before checkout. The available methods depend on the delivery country — different payment providers and installment programs are supported in different countries, so a bunk bed purchase can be paid in installments wherever this option is available. The system will automatically show the current options for your country based on the delivery address.
Do you deliver bunk beds internationally, and do you offer in-home delivery?
Yes. We ship bunk beds throughout Europe, always on a pallet, regardless of whether they are ordered without a drawer, with a drawer, or with a mattress drawer. Individual packages are carefully packed, and none exceeds 30 kg, so they can be carried in one by one. Delivery time is 2–5 business days from dispatch. For Poland, Germany, and Austria, an additional room-of-choice delivery option is available in the cart.
What happens if the bunk bed arrives damaged?
The risk is minimal thanks to pallet transport and careful packaging of individual components. Upon delivery, we recommend checking the shipment and taking photos if anything seems questionable. If, despite this, any part turns out to be damaged, contact us — we will send a replacement without requiring the return of the entire bed. Checking the shipment with the courier helps with the process, but does not limit your right to report damage later.
Can I order wood or color samples before purchasing?
Yes. Upon request, we send samples that allow you to assess the color and wood structure in person before choosing a specific finish or custom RAL/NCS color. This is especially useful if you want to match the bed to furniture already present in the room. To receive samples, contact us and let us know which finishes you are interested in.
Do you offer mattresses for bunk beds?
Yes. The mattress is not included in the bed price, but we offer mattresses and you can order one together with the furniture, matched to one of the 12 bunk bed sizes. This means you do not have to look for it separately or check whether the dimensions will fit. If you prefer to use your own mattress, make sure its dimensions and thickness meet the recommendations for the selected model.
Do you issue invoices?
Yes. We can issue an invoice for every order — simply provide your company details when placing the order or contact us. This applies to individual customers, companies, and facilities ordering a larger number of bunk beds.
